Sand casted & handmade

Product details

The products of cast aluminium have small marks and variations from the casting process, therefore small holes and unevenness might occur. The surface undergoes a unique treatment, brushed by hand using a special coating mixture, to achieve a deep black finish. Finally, the colour is spray painted with a mat transparent paint, adding a silky mat finish to the metal.

Production method

The product is made by sand casting - pouring molten aluminium or brass into sand moulds. As a result, surfaces may feature subtle irregularities and tiny porous imperfections, which are inherent to this method. There may be slight differences between products in terms of texture and colour, which is not a defect in the product. Product surface is finished by hand-polishing to desired smoothness (brushed or polished) or treating it (oxidising or ageing) into one of the available finish options.

Care & Maintenance

Wipe with a soft dry or moist cloth. Do not leave the surface wet. Do not use any abrasive cleaning tools or strong cleaning agents such as household glass cleaner, white spirit, or turpentine. The product comes covered in special hydrophobic coating. To maintain the item in good condition we recommend renewing the coating once a year. Read more here.
