Torus explores the contrast between weight and lightness. A monolithic stone core passes through a hand-blown glass form that appears soft and almost weightless, like a cloud suspended around the stone. The light source is concealed within the object, illuminating the glass from inside and creating a diffuse, atmospheric glow without a visible source.

Product details

Torus is made from natural stone and hand-blown glass, meaning no two pieces are exactly alike. The colour, veining and mineral patterns of the marble vary naturally from piece to piece. The glass may feature subtle ripples, small air bubbles, variations in thickness and slight differences in shape created during the blowing process. These characteristics are inherent to the materials and the way each lamp is made, rather than imperfections.

Production method

Each glass element is shaped individually by hand using traditional glassblowing techniques. Molten glass is gathered, blown and formed into a mould, with the final shape controlled by the glassmaker while the material is still hot. Once cooled, the glass is carefully finished and paired with its stone element. Because the process relies on heat, breath and hand-forming, subtle variations in shape, thickness, surface and transparency are a natural part of each piece.

Care & Maintenance

Wipe with a soft dry or moist cloth. Do not leave the surface wet. Do not use any abrasive cleaning tools or strong cleaning agents such as household glass cleaner, white spirit, or turpentine. The product comes covered in special hydrophobic coating. To maintain the item in good condition we recommend renewing the coating once a year.
